Our first app is built for the water.
BetterCaptain
A navigation app for sailors that runs entirely on the Apple Watch, no iPhone needed. The simplest, safest instrument you can wear on a boat.
- Course and speed in large type. Readable in bright sun and rough water.
- One-press man overboard. Mark the spot and get guidance back to it.
- Anchor watch. An alert if the boat drifts outside the radius you set.
- Private by design. No account, no network, no analytics. Location stays on the watch.
Requires watchOS 26 or later. A navigation aid, not a replacement for approved man overboard procedures or other safety equipment.
How we build
Four rules we do not bend.
Solve one real problem
If we cannot say in a sentence what problem an app fixes, we do not build it.
Make it simple to use
The best interface is the one you stop noticing. We cut until only what matters is left.
Respect people's data
Collect only what the app needs. When it can work without an account or a network, it does.
Ship it finished
AI gives us speed. We spend it on testing and polish, not on shipping more half-done things.
